La V-STROM 800DE è alimentata dal nuovo motore bicilindrico parallelo Suzuki da 776 cm3. È caratterizzato da una configurazione superquadra che offre un ottimo equilibrio nelle prestazioni a qualunque regime, sia negli spostamenti in città sia nei viaggi su lunghe distanze. Il motore risponde in maniera pronta e fluida anche a velocità estremamente basse, rendendo la V-STROM 800DE facile da controllare su strade sterrate e percorsi fuoristrada quando ci si vuole spingere oltre l‘asfalto.

 

La nuova disposizione del motore a due cilindri paralleli consente di avere dimensioni più compatte. Ciò contribuisce ad una distribuzione ottimale del peso ed una geometria del telaio ideale sia per percorrere strade sterrate sia per i lunghi viaggi. Allo stesso tempo, garantisce posizione di guida più comoda in ogni situazione. Per il motore bicilindrico, Suzuki ha scelto un albero motore a 270 gradi poiché la sua fasatura aiuta a fornire una guida fluida con una coppia vigorosa, una grande trazione ed un piacevole sound simile a quello di un bicilindrico a V.

Tutti i moderni motori bicilindrici paralleli con albero motore con manovellismo a 270 gradi utilizzano un sistema di equilibratura delle forze di primo grado per eliminare le vibrazioni. Suzuki ha creato un nuovo sistema di equilibratura a doppio contralbero, il primo su una moto di serie, che posiziona i due contralberi a 90° rispetto all'albero motore*.

Questo meccanismo brevettato** è in grado di garantire una guida più fluida, mentre il suo design permette di ottenere un propulsore più leggero e più compatto dall'anteriore al posteriore.

I sistemi elettronici avanzati del Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) sono stati sviluppati per assistere il pilota ed ottimizzare le prestazioni adattando il comportamento della moto ad ogni esigenza e stile di guida. Questi sistemi rendono la V-STROM 800DE più semplice da controllare e meno faticosa da guidare oltre a garantire maggiore confidenza in qualunque situazione.
