Yamaha's first international road race was the French GP in May 1961. The first race victory came in 1963. And in 1964 Yamaha won its first World Championship. Since then, factory bikes have won more than 500 Grands Prix. The special World GP 60th Anniversary livery celebrates 60 years of Yamaha's official racing at the highest level in motorcycle racing.
The R1 World GP 60th Anniversary features the unmistakable red "speed block" graphics and a white fairing, combined with the 60th anniversary emblem, yellow front plaque and gold wheels, which are inspired by the official Yamaha motorcycles that brought legendary riders such as Read, Saarinen, Agostini and Roberts to victory. They are an integral part of Yamaha's history. And by riding the R1 World GP 60th Anniversary you can be part of this very special celebration.
