BEYOND THE LEGEND

The inspiration for the original 1981 Katana came from the famous Japanese sword of the same name. Japanese swordsmen spend countless hours forging, hammering, folding, and welding raw steel to achieve an appropriate level of purity and achieve the right balance in the material before shaping the blade. Likewise, Suzuki takes as much time as necessary to produce and test its prototypes as it studies the materials, components, and final design of its models. The brilliance of the result is evident even when we dwell on details that normally remain hidden from view.

The Katana 's matte tints and finish create a very modern look in keeping with current tastes. The design features a unique rectangular overlapping LED headlamp and position lights, also LED, that highlight the streamlined profile of the front end. The turn signals and rear light cluster are also fully LED, ensuring maximum performance in terms of durability, visibility and efficiency.

CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE

The Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) introduces a wide assortment of advanced electronic control systems on the Katana that allow the rider to optimize the bike's behavior based on his or her own experience so as to better adapt to specific riding situations and different road surface conditions.

"BI-DIRECTIONAL QUICK SHIFT" SYSTEM

This unique standard equipment allows for quick and easy shifting up and downshifting, without having to operate the clutch or release the accelerator. When active, when shifting into a higher gear the quick shift automatically interrupts power delivery for a fraction of a second, so that progression is smoother and almost uninterrupted. When slowing down and downshifting, the system automatically opens the throttle valves just enough to increase the rpm and match the speed to the lower gear.

The bidirectional quick shift works in tune with the SDMS system to provide excellent smoothness of travel and great driving fun.

"DRIVE MODE SELECTOR" SYSTEM (SUZUKI DRIVE MODE SELECTOR)

The three different mappings all achieve maximum power delivery, varying engine response and torque availability when accelerating. The SDMS allows you to prefer a grittier behavior or a more relaxed one, so that the delivery reflects exactly the pace you want to adopt.

• Mode A (Active): ensures a more responsive response when you open the throttle. Torque delivery is carefully designed to ensure breathtaking acceleration when you open the throttle wide, a feature that is greatly appreciated when enjoying sporty driving on dry winding roads.

• B Mode (Basic): Provides smoother throttle response and a more linear power curve. Settings are defined to suit a wide variety of riding styles and situations, making the bike more manageable in everyday use.

• Mode C (Comfort): offers even smoother engine response and torque delivery, with a progression that linearly follows the action on the accelerator. This mode is useful when driving on wet and low-grip surfaces, or when you want to relax on a long journey.
